Company History
In 1989 Shaun Ellis became the administrator for the newly established Preston Community Transport and began working with the newly developed Multitrip Community Transport software which had been developed by Loughbourgh University for the CT sector. Over the next 10 years as Preston CT grew and developed more and more services Shaun became the operations manager. During this time he became increasingly more involved with Multitrip, providing support and helping with the development of the system.
When unfortunately Multitrip came to an end, as part of the user group, Shaun was charged with the task of trying to find a replacement. Since the sector had already received funding for Multitrip it became clear that there was going to be no money available to commission a replacement for Multitrip. In typical Shaun style he decided to have a go himself!
After considerable effort and many late nights, in 1997 Shaun produced his first piece of software CT97 and to his amazement many of the other Multitrip users thought it was great and began using it. Needless to say the growing interest in the software began to interfere with Shaun’s work at Preston Community Transport and as a result Shaun decided to take a chance and leave Preston CT and dedicate himself full time to supporting and developing the software.
